Haydock Park

One of the premier racecourses in the country, Haydock Park is the jewel of the north when it comes to year round racing in both flat and National Hunt fixtures. Situated in the village of Haydock, the course is halfway between Liverpool and Manchester and is easily accessed via the main transport networks and particularly the M6 motorway, making the course popular with locals as well as those who will travel to see and take part some first class horseracing.

Haydock Park, inside rail The highlight of the flat season at Haydock is the Group 1 Stanleybet Sprint Cup, held in November, and which forms a part of a quintet of races to determine the Champion Sprinter of Europe. The Red Square Vodka Gold Cup, in February is just one of the many superb three mile chases which from an integral part of the National Hunt season at Haydock.

The long oval track of 1 mile and 5 furlongs, with a 5 furlong run-in favours long striding gallopers with plenty of stamina whatever the season. The challenging drop fences and flat galloping track at Haydock is the ideal preparation for Aintree and the Cheltenham Gold Cup and soft going and a long run in from the final fence, which is an open ditch and water jump, place additional demands on stamina and make for thrilling races to the finish.

Although close to the M6 and the major cities of the North West, Haydock Park occupies a beautiful rural setting, within 127 acres of parkland. The perfect backdrop to an excellent day at the races, with racing throughout the year there are plenty of fixtures to choose from, 32 racedays in total. So, whether a flat or jumps enthusiast or simply a family or casual racegoer looking for a new, fun and exciting experience, Haydock provides world class racing in a great setting and all accompanied by first class hospitality.

Haydock Park offers four different environments in which to enjoy raceday. Sophisticated racing in the classic style is offered in the Premier Enclosure, while the County Stand offers a wealth of facilities for all racegoers. Tattersalls Stand has a renowned party atmosphere for a great day out and for a more leisurely family-oriented raceday experience there is the Newton Stand.

The Premier Suite is found on the top floor of the Centenary Stand and offers a stylish environment perfectly placed for the best panoramic views over the track and winning post. The exclusive Harry’s Bistro Restaurant facility provides some fine dining and there is also a conservatory, bar, and a selection of betting facilities. There are just 450 Premier Suite Badges available for each raceday so early booking is essential.

The County Enclosure sits opposite the winning post and County badge holders can access a series of suites within the Centenary and Tommy Whittle Stands. Dining and drinks outlets include the Colours Restaurant, Champagne Conservatory and Seafood Bar, Chasers Bar and the Horseshoe and Whittle Suites. There are both standing and seated viewing areas and access is also permitted to the Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure. As with the Premier Suite, demand is high for the County Enclosure and prior booking is recommended.

Haydock Park, photo finish Access to the Parade Ring and Winners enclosure is also available to those within Tattersalls Enclosure, the largest enclosure in Haydock, with three raised viewing areas as well as a large selection of bars and eateries. Tattersalls has a great atmosphere for enjoying the races and bets can be made via the Tote facilities and on course bookmakers.

An excellent option for those looking for a family fun day out is the Newton Enclosure. This has a viewing area, cafeteria and bar, and also a children’s play area.

A bouncy castle is provided on Saturdays in the good weather. Food and non-alcoholic drinks in plastic containers may be brought into Tattersalls Enclosure.

Admission prices vary depending on fixture and enclosure but start from just £8.00 per person for the Newton Enclosure and from £34.00 for the Premier Enclosure during midweek racedays from January through to March. Tickets for the County and Tattersalls enclosures start from £23.00 and £15.00 respectively. Children under 16 can attend Haydock Park for free when accompanied by an adult. Group discounts are available as are restaurant packages for those who wish to combine their racing with dining in the time-honoured tradition. These start from £75.00 per person for Colours Restaurant, £100.00 for Park Suite Restaurant, and £105.00 for some superb dining at Harry’s Bistro.

A raceday at Haydock Park provides the perfect environment for hospitality events, whether for a memorable corporate meeting or for a family or group celebration. With three restaurants to accommodate groups of between 2-20, and private boxes for groups of 15-20 there is plenty of scope to tailor a package suitable for any group and budget. Additionally, there are suites available which have superb views over the course and can cater for up to 400 guests.

The facilities and hospitality available at Haydock Park, combined with a convenient location, make the racecourse a premier conference, banqueting and events centre in the North West. Fully equipped meeting rooms to cater for up to 500 attendees are available with fully inclusive day packages to suit. Any special dinner or party can also be organised to mark a special event or occasion and weddings in particular benefit from the elegant surrounds. The course is licensed to conduct civil ceremonies.
